Customer Service - The New Marketing Craze?

It 's a sentiment that many share, "Marketing is the promise you to get another person to buy something." And, in the land of Home Improvement, there is plenty of marketing. "Windows Buy 3, get 1 FREE!" Or "Call us TODAY and double the tax credit!" And my favorite: "BUY NOW your verandah and enjoy your set of wicker furniture for FREE TODAY!" Joking aside ... Wicker?

However, in this down economy, less than conventional marketing can be granted due to the decrease in revenues. Consequently, the buzz phrase "The customer service is the new marketing" has found a foothold in many business conversations.

And it is entirely plausible. Talk is cheap, and marketing support that the word of mouth referrals are not something to be coveted. After all, the cost is nominal lead, perhaps a small referral fee to the referrer ... Furthermore, the probability of conversion of a sale is much better than, for example, a perspective yellow page.

But all this honestly say that customer service is the new marketing? Maybe when the glitz and glam of television magazines spreads there are more, some companies are only left with the option to re-dedicate themselves to the ideal of treating a customer the right way. Too little, too late?

I argue that a down economy is only part of the reason some companies are currently in tough times. And 'the lack of customer service that has been the main force for many a fall. Companies with solid ethical practices are still flourishing and marketing in these uncertain times.

Same-day-only discounts and other high-pressure sales gimmicks are usually the precursors of what will be after signing a contract with a dress unscrupulous home improvement. Poor communication, installation delays and lack of adequate after-sales service are certain to follow.

Therefore, it is prudent to check all the details from the first. Get all guarantees in writing. Control every aspect of the contract description (accept anything scribbled on the back of a business card). And do not be embarrassed to ask about the referral of clients who can speak on behalf of the contractor.

Customer Service is the New Marketing? Instead, the customer service is the cornerstone of marketing ... nothing new on it .......
