Increased airfares for Cargo

The Government approved a further increase in airfare rates cabotage, that is the third raise approved in less than a year.

From tomorrow, further increases will impact on the pockets of those who intend to fly in Argentina as a result of further increase authorized by the Government in the rates of cabotage, the third in less than a year.

In a resolution published in the Official Gazette, the Ministry of Transport, directed by Juan Pablo Schiavi, reported an update of the reference rates and maximum rates on airfare to 39 cities across the country, which will be in force from zero tomorrow.

This is the first increase authorized by the Government in 2011, but the third in the last nine months, after rising 10% agreed in October and 15% concrete in June. These hikes also add to the 20% increase that had been granted to airlines in November 2009.

With the increase announced yesterday, airlines operating in the cabotage market may charge a maximum fee of $ 971 on flights to Bariloche (previously the cap was at $ 899), from $ 823 to Ushuaia (previously the limit was $ 762) and $ 697 to Puerto Iguazú ($ 646).

The increase in the passages just run for domestic flights, while the international market remains unregulated, which the airlines that operate routes between different cities in Argentina and abroad will continue to work with free rates.

It is important to note that international airfares remain in the same previous levels because prices in that area are not regulated.
